There’s so many comparisons I could make and one day I’ll make a Venn Diagram about all of their similarities but for now I’m glad someone pointed this out.

there are some things kenny does that have No excuse (like refusing to help bitten lee look for missing clem all because hes mad you didnt side with him enough. leaving lee to singlehandedly save himself in the pharmacy because he got scared. threatening to slap clem for blaming herself for lees death. off the top of my head). but his behavior on the train is annoying yet understandable. he doesnt want to admit his son is dying and he feels like duck dying in the first place is his fault for not saving shawn. you can convince him to stop without things getting physical

the Problem comes in when people can understand and sympathize with kennys annoying/shitty actions, but when it comes to violet (who has the same "my family is dead and its made me bitter and closed off" backstory (and her whole arc is about learning to love and care again)), suddenly all understanding goes out the window. even tho shes not even a FRACTION as annoying and shitty as kenny can get 😭😭

violet is mean to clem for the One scene where youre introduced to her (ignoring your first moment with her in the courtyard where shes smiling at clem so you already know her shitty attitude later is a lie. louis even defends her. wingman lol. and depending on what you say in response to her you can Immediately see the regret on her face LOL). but before the scene even Ends shes complimenting clem and clem loves it. then youre forced to talk to her and tenn about the twins, you have a nice card game where you can joke around with her, then she shows up at the dorm and they have a nice heart to heart about how theyre BOTH struggling with the loss of people theyve loved, and they can sympathize about both being harsher than they intend (THEY GET EACH OTHER CANONICALLY)

and vi not being "a people person" is a huge part of her arc?? she doesnt like that shes like this 😭 but shes also better with people than she gives herself credit for and its why she makes a good leader. (and even if you pick the "came off strong" option clem is OBVIOUSLY teasing about it but vi cant tell and gets defensive ("its not like im trying to be bffs or whatever. sorry" is so "you want to kiss me so bad it makes you look stupid" of her)

and then after this shes never mean to clem again?? (unless you antagonize her but even then its mostly just about her standing her ground and not taking shit she doesnt deserve. which is fair). shes only mean to brody while fishing (and shes mean to brody because deep down she blames HERSELF) and the whole POINT of that scene is to try and mend their broken relationship which immediately makes vi a happier/nicer person if you do (also interesting how louis doesnt get any shit for His behavior while hunting 🤨 no hes just cool and fun). violet also apologizes for being "weird" in the dorms the previous night as well (bby girl why are you afraid that everything you do is weird 😭 she says that word a lot)

violet will Always have clems back (in EP1 and 2!!) No Matter What you do or say to her. i think people take her loyalty for granted. so if you dont save her in EP2 and expect to continue to have her unwavering loyalty in EP3? thats a You problem. she is Fucked Up mentally on that boat by lilly and her not-exactly-ex, and then gets caught in the explosion she didnt want anything to do with. AND THEN SHE APOLOGIZES because she recognizes she was WRONG

(not her literally trying to make a joke about it to ease the tension 😭 people dont give her credit for also having a sense of humor. like louis is the only one who cracks jokes around here) but again when it comes to kenny his actions are understandable and defendable even without an apology 🙄 i literally side with kenny on Everything except the larry thing and if you dont make the right dialogue choice with him? he will not help you look for clem. because of larry 😐 i killed your son for you bro and then took care of his walker doppelganger so you didnt have to. and this isnt even touching his behavior in S2. and yet despite everything he does hes still one of the most beloved characters in the fandom 🤨

Reader having sleeping problems and cant sleep. Quinn wakes up after she left the bed and went to the living room so she wouldnt disturb him.

It's 2am...guess who can't sleep?

It had been one of /those/ nights. 

One where no matter what you did, you couldn't stay asleep for more than an hour at a time. You had tossed and turned the whole night, shocked you hadn't woken Quinn even once. He was sound asleep on his side, his back to you and seemingly unphased by all of the restless episodes you were having. Annoyed with the constant pursuit of sleep that always seemed to allude you, you slipped out of bed and tiptoed from the room.

By this point, you were wide awake, but it was two-thirty in the morning. Too early to decide to just stay up and start the day and too late at night to do anything, not that wouldn't disturb Quinn in the other room. Back when you lived alone, you would have baked some cookies, or had a hot bath and watched a movie, but since moving in with Quinn, all of those insomnia fixes were harder to do now. 

Dragging your feet to the living room, you'd pull a couple of blankets from the back of the sofa, and try to make your self comfortable. However, like in the bedroom, you simply couldn't get that level of comfort you so desperately craved. Your back was beginning to bother you now, only adding to your inability to get any adequate rest. 

Looking up at the ceiling, you'd give one of your best signature Quinn sighs but it would fall on deaf ears. All you wanted to do was curl up against him and finally drift off to sleep, but you didn't like being the big  spoon and also didn't want to wake him. You had been lucky enough to get out of bed without disturbing him, so it seemed silly to go back in there now. You'd just have to settle for a solo night on the sofa instead. 

Being lost in your own thoughts, and not of counting sheep, you'd flip on the television and try to find something to watch that might finally coax you to sleep. Not that you were surprised, but there was absolutely nothing on at near three o'clock in the morning. You'd settle for some old Forensic Files episodes, as it was one of the few shows always on at all hours of the day. You were convinced that there were ten-thousand episodes of that show, as you never seemed to catch a re-run. You wouldn't find your eyes getting heavy --quite the opposite-- you found yourself engaged and eager for the justice outcome at the end. And because you were engrossed in the show, you wouldn't notice that Quinn was up and out of bed.

"Baby, what are you doing up? It's three," he said with the biggest yawn that made the tail-end of his statement hard to understand. "Are you alright?"

"Oh, Quinny-- I'm sorry I woke you up."

"I rolled over to find you and you weren't there, then I heard the TV." He shuffled over to you, looking down with a concerned expression on his face, faintly illuminated by the glow coming from the LCD "Come back to bed."

"I can't sleep," you replied, as he sat down beside you on the sliver of left-over cushion. 

"What's wrong?"

"I don't know, I just can't stay asleep."

He yawned again slightly concerned as he questioned you, "Did I do something to keep you up?"

"No, baby. It's just a bad night." 

"Is there anything I can do?"

You shook your head, giving his back a slight scratch as he sat next to you. "I don't think so, but thank you. You should really go back to bed, baby. You need your rest."

"Come with me" he pleaded, giving a pout.

"Quinn, don't you dare pout!" You teased. "That's not fair. I'll just keep you awake."

"I have an idea, please?"

You huffed, knowing you had already lost when that bottom lip of his made its appearance. "If I can't get back to sleep, Quinn, I'm just going to come back out here."

"You won't need to," he mumbled, pulling himself to his feet, extending his hand to you. "Hand-- please."

Hand-in-hand, Quinn would guide you back to the bedroom. He was first under the covers, getting himself nestled back in though the bed had grown cold having been empty. "Come on, my cute little spoon," he said, smiling in the darkness. 

That was all you needed to hear to know where he wanted you. Once you got into bed, Quinn wasted no time engulfing you in his arms and pulling you close to his body. There wasn't a gap between the two of you and his warmth transferred to you within a few seconds. His left arm locked you in to his embrace his breath hot against your neck. 

"Comfortable?" He asked, eyes already closed, nose buried in your hair.

"Yes, thank you." 

"What else do you need?"

"Nothing, Quinn. I'm okay."

He didn't say much after that and just let the feeling of you up against him reassure you that you were safe and being looked out for. He'd give you all of the stars if it were possible and he would always admit that he slept best with you. It hurt him when you decided to sleep on the sofa instead of his bed, but he understood you had your reasons, most having to do with not disturbing him and that he remained asleep. 

"Good night, babe," he whispered. "I love you."

"I love you too, sweetheart," you said to him, your eyes finally finding the desire to fall closed. "Wake me up when you get up in the morning, please?"

He giggled, "No chance. I'll get you up at noon."

I really love the brobot!!!! People really misconstrue it and also leave it out in a lot of dirkjake talk? Its a big player in not only how dirk expresses his affection/desire towards jake but also in their multi year spanning unspoken game of gay chicken 😭😭(all of dirks splinters are but Not about them rn)

It was sent yknow under the pretense that jake loves wrestling and wished so bad to have somebody he could wrestle with. But at the same time it protects jake from the horrors of hellmurder island (seen before they strife), pushing jake into the Damsel in distress role he wasnt expecting to play even before all the shit in the game, with Dirk being his hero.

Jake says he keeps it on a high difficulty because apparently in the Novice mode he says their interactions become "too tender" and doesnt want to elaborate, Friendly reminder! His convo with jane on the SAME DAY dirk pulled off that big romantic overture and the kiss happens and him and dirk begin "dating".. is the same day he asked jane if it didnt make him weird for wanting to date dirk. And he also says hed joke around with dirk about how theyd soo make a great couple if dirk were a girl haha.

I imagine the brobot and well. Getting physical like that with a robot that supposedly looks like dirk probably gave jake his internal gay awakening at 13 but he just never wanted to actually confront it and instead just wanted to brush past everything 😭😭 (See: every single time sexuality or romance comes up in relation to jake he is literally always thinking about dirk somehow and he never directly talks about his attraction to men or how that reflects/contradicts on his self image of the Movie Star Hero guy)

and jake doesnt actually hate the thing either, he tells jane he thinks it genuinely did improve his fighting capabilities (Which we see it did in collide! he beat basically the whole felt with guns and fisticuffs alone, no hope powers.) Which serves as a pretty evident parallel to dave who also is good at fighting, even if he doesnt want to be. (see dirk + dave convo)

This one comes from hussies authors notes in the aradiabot and equius scene (which equius imagery being invoked with dirk. something i could totally rant about another time haha) but yeah. Jake was being selfish asshat in that log forcing jane into a corner and wringing what he wanted to hear out of her, and also not giving a shit about the brobot (Which served as his protector and only other semblance of human connection since he was 13 and was a BIRTHDAY GIFT FROM DIRK) KILLING ITSELF? But hes so preoccupied talking about dirk. THE REAL DIRK. And immediately after jake loses the dirk splinter that protected him, HE (AND DIRK) CREATE A NEW ONE FOR HIMSELF USING THEIR COMBINED POWERS/?

Hussie is lying.. somebody Does care about dirks feelings. a whole lot to the point they activate their powers unwittingly Because of it. and its jake. but jake just cant admit that himself. (He cannot admit his real feelings until given permission to, dirk would have to concede the game of gay chicken first using his words and not just actions)

ANYWAY. hussie is so right its so easy to get sidetracked times one million talking about this comic. BUT AHH!! BROBOT. his existence.. tragic.. Jakes really smart in knowing that all of dirks splinters enlighten aspects of himself he doesnt oft share, and the brobot served as another dirk action on the pile of dirk actions he engineers to signify his deep immense care for jake, where he lets these grand gestures and implications sit out in the open without ever actually saying what they mean and where his feelings lay.

for start, reiji, unlike shu, do enjoy taking care of his skin and hair, at the begining of reiji's teen years, some acne began to pop out, and could'nt stand the fact that shu did not have any acne, not even once, so he started to take care of it, he often buys expensive lotion, soaps, and other skin creams, he totally watch tutorials on how to clean his skin properly, and always tries new suncreens on the market.

and i think that reiji does also buys expensive shampoo's and conditioner, he need it for his dry hair, so he totally buys profesional stuff. he prefers probably scents like jazmin, wooderish, also honey... even maybe lavanda.

and bc he cares a lot for his appearance, he showers very often, at least his body, reiji washes his hair like four times a week. and a little detail is that when he wash his hair, reiji uses hot water, but when he showers only his body, reiji uses cold water.

and to keep himself good looking reiji excersive sometimes, like two times a week and its intense, no one really notice bc he does it in his room.

and when it come to clothes, reiji does enjoy fancy clothes, i like to think reiji go through a face where he was looking for his real aesthtetic, he tried vintage, victorian stuff and in some point he tried the bad boy aesthetic, he find it a little too much casual for him, until he reached a more refinated, fancy but not too flashy style. even so he loves the turtle neck sweaters.

i think reiji is very aware of how handsome he is, his face is similar to his fathers, meaning, a sharp jaw and having a pretty nose, wich bone stand out a little. id say his nose and his eyes are the most atrative thing about his face. love a big nose on reiji, and his eyes are the most similar to his father, with that magenta color and a very intimidating gaze. In addition to having slanted eyes like his father, reiji gaze is like that of a cat, a little arrogant and seductive.

and for his body id say reiji is more of a slim kind of body, he has some good muscles for working out, reiji has good arms and shoulders, but his hands are really pretty, has long fingers and well treated nails. and as shu he also has a prominent v line, but reiji waist is more small.

reiji also takes good care of his body hair, the man shave for having a good smooth skin everywhere, yes, everywhere. and as shu, has that thing that dont let him grow a hole beard so he often shave it.

soo... reiji is a little freak and you can't change my mind, he definetly has some obsessions and cant get over it, he just love things much he cant live without doing it, and to begin with one thing is his obvious collection of fancy plates, cups, teapots and has a little collection of rare spoons. reiji puts them in diferent parts of the manor just to look at them everywhere he goes, and he does not use any of them. he cleans them once a week.

and speaking of his obsessions, reiji has a secret but popular social media where he post is collection, he is very famous and dont show his face.

and he totally has OCD when it comes to order, without realize reiji is always ordering everything symmetrically and harmoniously to the eye, even when it comes to food, reiji orders the food on the plate in an elegant and orderly way.

also, i think reiji dont eat half of what he cooks, he prefer cooking than eating, but he enjoy's more doing desserts or really fancy meals. he also post this in his secret famous social media.

reiji is the kind of ADHD people that needs to do things right away, like the first thing in the morning to do is do his bed, when he finish cooking he cleans everything, when he take off dirty clothes he does laundry instantly, and like that with every little activity he does. maybe bc his mind is a little complicated and if he does'nt do something right away he might become anxious.

Reader’s bit of a black sheep amongst angels, cuz I feel like Constantine would go great with a bit of a rebel.

its honestly taken me too long to realize that lucifer from the show is the same lucifer as in the DC comics.

You had a bit of a past with John Constantine, with you being a bit of a rulebreaker amongst the angels and all. I mean, you still went to visit your brother Lucifer on the regular, even if you had been told not to.

Michael had scolded you more times than you could count, telling you not to pop in and out of hell as you please just because you want too, or to not just teleport to earth willy-nilly when Lucifer relocated there for a while.

It was at Lucifers club that you met Constantine for the first time. You didn’t really speak to him, but you did see how he seemed to truly get on your older brothers’ nerves, so you already liked him for that alone.

After the blonde Brit left, Lucifer would give you the whole spiel about him, complaining about how many times he had sold his soul, and all the trouble his actions caused in hell, and how much paperwork the blonde gave him.

After that you bump into him in other places. You like to party, you like to fight, you like to be a nuisance. And its not like anybody can stop an angel as powerful as yourself if they wanted. They’re lucky you just like to be annoying by nature and that you aren’t actually evil.

It ends up with you getting mixed up in some of the things Constantine get up too, even if its by accident because you were in the wrong place at the wrong time. You always just know that Michael is gonna be on your neck when you get back to heaven after each time, but hanging out with John is worth it.

Hes tried to get you drunk so many times, but it never works no matter what kind of stuff he pulls out of his coat. Being angelic doesn’t really allow you to be weakened by something as small as alcohol. But its fun to see him try anyways.

In the eyes of your siblings, even Lucifer, Constantine is a bad influence, and they’ll scold you for spending so much time with a mortal, especially someone as twisted on the ledgers as Constantine. You just always shrug, flutter your wings, and fly off to do whatever it is you do. Being the youngest has its perks, since it means you get away with quite a lot.

You could easily escape if you wanted too. Something as weak as a man-made structure wasn’t gonna hold you, but you had been bored for weeks now, so why not see what happens. You do get pretty annoyed when they talk about you like you cant hear them. They don’t know you can hear them, but still.

Zatanna easily spots that you are of divine descent, but just how far up in the hierarchy you are is a bit lost to her, since they still believe you can be captured by human means. This is why they’re forced to call in Constantine, since hes the only one they know who regularly interacts with an angel.

The Brit has a good laugh when he sees you sitting on the floor in a cell pouting, your wings wrapped around you like a cocoon. At this point you just phase out of the cell to flick Constantine in the temple for laughing at you.

John is the one that has to explain that you could have escaped the entire time if you wanted, you were just a dick that got bored easily. The dick comment makes you huff and smack him with your wing.

After all that is cleared up, the two of you go out to drink like usual. I could imagine the league trying to figure out if you’d be willing to help them when times are tough, but to their dismay you just shrug and give a “if I feel like it”.

Constantine will later explain to them in passing, mainly to roast you, that you are the youngest, which means that you aren’t used to real work and can just do whatever you want, cuz all your older siblings baby you.

His chair disappears from right under him for that comment, so the league takes it with a grain of salt. In the end you help out if there really is no other way, since angels shouldn’t interfere with minor issues.

Most of the time on earth you spend with John though, since he matches your wavelength and isn’t freaked out by the whole angel thing.

Bluestreak x Reader

• Carrying you back to his quarters, he absently rubs a servo against you and warms when you hook an arm around it to hug him. “Sorry about worrying you. I didn’t want to bother Ratchet and it wasn’t really that bad. I’ve seen worse and-” Trailing off when you look up at him. Because he knows he’s rambling, but you don’t huff at him. Don’t tell him to shut up. You never do and every time you don’t his spark aches with it. With all the things he wants to say, but doesn’t dare. “Sorry.”

• When he smiles that self-depreciating smile, that sense of a lost boy lifts through you again. He’s older than you, much older, but still it’s there in the fear you see in his optics sometimes. An unsettled feeling you don’t know how to deal with, but that makes you think the smiles and chatter on the surface are all for show. That he’s still reaching for you like he had that first time, desperate and afraid. “Don’t apologize. Just take care of yourself. I like having you around.”

• Do you? No one else does and his servos flex around you as he lets himself into his quarters and sits on the side of his berth with you. Reluctant to give up your warmth. Feels bad about clinging to you like he does, but can’t make himself stop. Optics shuttering as he braces for the rejection, he mass shifts. Hears you yelp as you end up in his lap and he wraps his arms around you, chin on top of your head. “I like having you around, too.”

• Heart racing, you shudder and try to shake off that awful feeling of falling. Not even sure why you’re surprised by anything at this point when you live with a giant alien robot. Shrinking? Sure. Why not? “Warn me before you do that next time.” Or you might get sick on him. Distracted when he so gently curls his fingers around your wrist and pulls it to him. Watching him line up his palm with yours and even smaller, his hand dwarfs yours.

• “Sorry.” You’ve always been so small and fragile to him, but putting himself closer to your size really drives it home. Your hand so tiny in his. “I just wanted to hold you. And I can’t normally because you’re so small and you’re still small. I feel like you’re going to break,” he murmurs, embarrassed. You’re always touching his servos, hugging them, trying to comfort him. He wanted to return it, but still can’t. Like he can’t begin to explain how much he loves you for being with him. For not abandoning him when he’d needed you. For keeping him from being so alone.

• “I’m not made of glass.” Shifting more to sit across his lap, you reach back and find his other arm and pull it around you. Encouraging him to hold you like he’d wanted and you lay your head against him, seeing his door wings lift from the corner of your eye. “See?” You can hear his internal systems and the thrum of his spark as he cautiously rests his hand on your hip. “This is okay.” Breath catching as his head dips and his cheek brushes yours. That hand still curled around yours tugging so he can brush his mouth against the inside of your wrist, his optics still shuttered. That gentle touch spreading warm through you.

So there's this genshin sagau where the reader has a bit of a language barrier with the other characters and I was wondering if that translated over to the Linked Universe as well? Like imagine the boys finding this random person with different clothes, accessories, and they talk in a language never before heard of? What are they, some kind of eldritch being? Meanwhile reader recognizes them obviously but frustratingly can't express any feelings asides from base concepts! Man.

Some funnies include; reader voicing more thoughts out loud now that no one can really understand them and reader eventually learning the language and getting a really sick accent out of it.

they get to observing their bunkmates for the night, subtly squinting at you, then turning to talk to each other, and slowly every link gets made aware of ur prescense, u didnt think u stood out that bad..

well, its not like when u first greeted the guy u understood even a single thing the guy said, it sounded like some sub-dialect of Japanese or something

u had realized earlier with horror that the game was staying true to its creators, and that most likely everyone spoke a special version of Japanese and ur English ass was abt to be so lonely and confused 😭

Wars/Time/Sky/Four in particular clearly noticed u exchanging all ur currency, as u can see them whispering or glancing at you occasionally as u pocket ur now little green gems the size of coins, rather than strip of paper

after the stable u manage to run into them in Kakariko Village, which wasnt crazy bc u needed more supplies, and it was the nearest town to the stable

ur sure they noticed, but u outright avoided them out of paranoia or making them paranoid u were following them, and u definitely saw who you thought was the hero of the Four Sword whisper about u as u walked by, not that u caught much

actually, that was smth u noticed pretty early on in the ensuing weeks of travel, was the fascination they had w/English and ur voice??

Wind constantly rambled at you and poked and smiled at you to try and get you to ramble back, and after getting more comfortable around them,

u start to talk like they cant understand a word ur saying, which is entirely accurate, and you notice some like to lean in when you talk, or respond with humming/saying smth like u can understand, or even just gesture for u to keep going

Four/Time/Legend?? surprisingly/Hyrule/Twilight like when u get rlly talkative like ur having a one-sided convo w/them all the time, and they constantly are looking at you poinetedly to hear u narrate whatever ur doing or give a response whenever they same something at you (Rulie/Four/Twi/ and sometimes Time, (and he turns away but Legend too) give a little smile whenever you ramble)

Wild is Very Interested in your langauage, bc the Zora, Rito, Gerudo, and Gorons all had their native tongue that he ended up learning, and so he constantly makes notes to try and decipher some of what ur saying in English

he lights up anytime ur able to successfully tell him another something abt it, like the alphabet, or grammar or structure etc

they seem to pay attention esp in the mornings or late at night? ur not sure why until Wind both draw pictures and tries to get the general idea to you to explain

Not only is there English carved into the walls, which u read as the Chain give u “explain now” looks and u communicate that the rlly ancient looking script they may or may not be able to read is, in fact, the written version of ur language-

but then another portal opens, and there’s sentences wrapped around the edges, which are fully in English too.

Tumblr staff have started banning multiple transfem accounts for speaking up against the harassment campaigns aimed at transfems and lack of moderation to combat it going on and the ceo trying to hand wave all away.

I'm genuinely scared for where this site is heading

i’m gonna answer these two at once because… yeah it’s easier.

i think its a shitty abuse of power. i have an ask in my drafts about the copypasta that was going around harassing trans women(whether they were tirfs and hated trans men or not, it’s irrelevant because it was still sexual harassment. it was also often sent to people who had jack shit to do with trans discourse) but at this point things have gotten so much bigger. in the uk an unnamed trans girl at the roller rink was almost stabbed to death, a 16 year old nonbinary student in oklahoma got beat to death in the bathrooms, brianna ghey’s murderers were finally charged with murder and i believe it was legally classified as a hate crime. on top of that with all the legislation passing…. shit is getting scary and it feels like this is only the beginning.

you can also tie it back to how trans women’s existence just… as trans women is seen as inherently sexual and in need of regulation. i’ve seen this enforced socially- women often tell other women “friendly” tips on how to conform to femininity with threat of punishment, and the scale to which trans women are subjected to this is disgusting. whatever you do is sexual because no matter what you do it will be considered inappropriate- so here’s our top ten tips on how to conform! but here it was just straight up censorship on… posts about bugs bunny? fully clothed transition timelines? venting frustration at staff for not dealing with the people harassing her? and for the ceo to threaten to get the fbi involved, if i remember correctly, is just fucking ridiculous.

i’ve also seen posts on other trans women being banned for just… talking about this? which really worries me. banning her was one thing, and that sucked ass enough on its own. but to subtly threaten users by saying “if you call us out, we’ll destroy your blog” is a whole nother level.

it also worries me how many people are, AGAIN, making this a transmasc vs transfem issues. crabs in a bucket; or something like that.

there are some valid points of “where was the solidarity when we were being sexually harassed and threatened?” and like… i get it. a few months ago me and some of my mutuals were getting RIDICULOUS amounts of sexual harassment(on my main blog, not much here) and we were told to get over it and it was just bait and ext ext. but…. why aren’t we extending the sympathy we wanted at the time? it’s so weird that coming from the “be nice and respectful to everyone, regardless of belief, we’re all human” crowd it cant be bothered to be brought up unless our own issues are being talked about. i’m also worried about how a large chunk of people are blaming this on trans men who talk about our oppression, or use this to “prove” we dont have it bad as if we weren’t ignored when similar shit was happening to us a few months back, or even saying we don’t have any problems at all and we should shut up and listen to other trans people.

it also worries me how many people are getting banned for speaking up for her(predesterone? im not good at remembering urls). how the censoring of trans bodies is also being defended and enforced- “she was threatening me!”. threats by cis radfems arent taken seriously- i saw that the other day with that one user comparing trans people to hitler and my reports doing jack shit- but when a trans woman lashes out because the staff didnt defend her, THATS a serious threat?

i left twitter after a month this year because it’s just intolerable, and i’ve never been on tiktok and instagram just lowkey sucks and reddit is… reddit. this has been the chillest and safest place for trans people so far, and seeing that get burnt to the ground just makes me wonder where all of us will go.

@staff, treat your userbase, especially your trans userbase, fairly. it’s not too much to ask.

i can't believe how misunderstood my point was about “spirituality” (i didn’t know it was that much of a loaded phrase!), but thank you for putting what i meant into more nuanced terms.

it's something that can be hard for me to put into words, and maybe i gave people the wrong impression by using the word "spirituality", since words mean different things to different people. i just haven't seen people discussing it so i wasn't sure how to really put it. but regardless of terminology, this reply is exactly what i'm getting at. and this is coming from someone who has a very scientific mind. i wouldnt even consider myself a traditionally “spiritual” person in the normal connotation of the word.

i see this as a cultural/political factor that we shouldn’t ignore, because this sense of meaning has driven people's motivations since the beginning of human civilization.

there's a primal aspect that hasn't really left us but there seems to be no room for it in our modern culture because half of these “guides” seem to be driven by “i cant wait for civilization to collapse so MY ideology can rise from the ashes" and the other half of it seems to be driven by greed. and often they are hand in hand.

i would really like to see actual enlightening ideas stemming from buddhist thought, analytical psychology, collective unconscious, and archetypes to take off in the public consciousness. (completely divorced from jordan peterson. just the original jungian stuff)

i am especially supportive towards getting people interested in carl jung's works. his idea was to get people to understand, "what myth am i living?" based on the same archetypes and symbols that recur time and time again throughout human history that we can all collectively recognize regardless of culture. so it's a sense of meaning based in the self. i don't want people being sent down reactionary paths when looking for meaning in their lives.

i think it would benefit people to who feel lost especially in uncertain/unprecedented times like, with those “there's got to be more to this, something deeper,” insinct. i see that people are looking for this but get taken advantage of or manipulated.

but on this deeper sense of meaning in life thing, the Left isn't doing a great job at providing an option for “lost” people looking for meaning that the Right seems to be having no trouble with. i wonder if this is why we've seen so many of these lost young men flock to reactionary commentators?

this reminds me of an excellent point contrapoints made in her video about jordan peterson, saying,

“The last thing I like is that you talk about deep shit. I was watching a video where you and a couple of zany goons were talking about Plato and Aristotle and the meaning of life. And I thought, ‘Huh… on the Left, we don’t really talk about that kind of thing. All we talk about is how society oppresses people.’ And that might not be enough. Because people need to have a positive purpose in life. I mean, personally, I don’t give a shit. I’m pretty happy to sit here watching the same three seasons of Strangers with Candy until I die. But other people, like Dostoevsky, Camus, other white guys who talk about lobsters…they have this need to have purpose in the face of suffering, and like, not just complain about patriarchy. But you know, I think that’s a point that can probably be made without comparing transgender activism to Stalin.”

I would like to be asleep, however, I am thinking about mermaid techno getting rescued from polluted waters by giant Kristin cupping him in a pool of water in her palms.

It’s all Techno’s known, gills stinging with every choked inhale, unable to see more than ten feet ahead from the murky water, littered with scars from bumping into things and sudden attacks and sharp garbage floating in the water. Techno is utterly alone in the riverbed, and doesn’t even know it. Poor little merfolk! So Kristin decides to save him.

Harder than she expected, nearly catches him the first time cause he couldn’t see it coming, but managed to wriggle out. Techno swam as fast as he could away, only to slam into a second soft wall that folded and tried to crush him beneath pillars. He pivots, but a second one swings in from nowhere, the little merfolk panicked and trying to maneuver out of the way. They’re unbelievably coordinated, but he’s clever and small and fast. Techno has absolutely zero way of comprehending the thing he’s fighting against. Thrashing as he’s scooped out of the water, terrified of asphyxiation. Only the creatures somehow hold enough water? He’s swimming in circles, viscerally aware limited water is leaking from the thing?? Carrying him??????

Then he’s put into a tank (not that he can even recognize that) in a plastic bag to acclimate and he’s fruitlessly thwapping the bag with his tail when a thing swims up to him. Not fish. Kinda fish. Looks like…him? Because Techno is so endangered he’s never even seen another merperson. Partially bc of the heavy water pollution he’s used to. He’s confused why he can see so far and feels exposed cause of it, or why each breath doesn’t sting, or why it’s so easy to get to the surface because there’s no layer of garbage.

The other, bigger him is miming stuff with their hands cause sound cant get past the invisible barrier. His spanning green and white striped fins flare out in amusement as Techno startles and tries to get away, slamming into the invisible barrier over and over trying to find some gap in it. The little black fish surrounding the other him poke at the barrier curiously, when they should be fleeing because they look delicious.

Techno cautiously acclimates to the other him’s presence. But spooks again when the giant fleshy tentacles begin shifting the bag, lowering so the top is open to the rest of the water. Other him says his name is Phil, and looks horribly sad when Techno asks what he is, and looks happy when asked about the tentacle monster. Hands, he explains when asked, pointing out into the depths where just barely Techno can make out an incomprehensibly gigantic face. Its teeth bare as he notices it. That’s my wife, Phil explains cheerfully.

Seeing as Phil is evidently insane and/or evil, Techno attacks him mercilessly.

1.Unfortunately Philza turns into an annoying neighbor constantly cheerfully pestering the confused techno who has never held a conversation in his Life. Territorially, Techno tries to drive him off constantly. It doesn’t work. 

2.Techno not understanding glass and being terrified when he realizes he’s trapped in a tiny territory

3.Techno hiding for days under a sea shell whenever he sees Kristin (he’s bad at it, his eyesight is terrible after living in muck all his life)

4.Techno refusing to eat fish pellets. Or half a giant fish. But live prey he eviscerates with gusto

5.Shell being lifted up. Fear. Terror. Metal spears chasing him relentlessly, maneuvering so fast, before trapping him between (the tweezer prongs). Techno struggling in vain, getting a light squeeze in response, and screaming before going limp. Kristin immediately releases him, and Techno darts away immediately, laughing that the trick worked. Now armed with knowledge of how the tweezers worked he evades them for days.

And then cold. So horribly horribly cold. Techno feeling sluggish and lethargic, only able to thrash weakly as the tweezers gently seized his middle and lifted him up. Some weird bristle thing began stroking his tail (tooth brush) until the grime of a life in polluted waters began to scrub off. Almost felt nice, brain too sluggish to do much more than the mermaid equivalent of purring. Phil resting his head in his lap and combing out wild tangled hair as his crowfish symbiotically clean Techno’s scales. Working together to patch up Technos wounds and many many scars while Techno shivers and hugs Phil. The bigger merfolk just laughs and teases him for being used to a tropical environment.

6. slowly getting used to the giant woman, stops hiding from her, eagerly pokes out his head in case there’s more food when she passes. Still won’t go up when her fingers dangle in the water. Phil is still crazy nd insisting he’s married to the weird terrestrial behemoth. 

7.After a few weeks of Techno healing, adjusting to not living in a cesspit, curing his chronic malnutrition, figuring out Phil is crazy but harmless, Techno gets captured again. Taken to the ocean. Sees what his habitat was meant to be like this whole time. This vibrant coral reef and dozens of merfolk everywhere he looks and so much food and water as far as the eye can see. And techno cautiously explores, hiding behind Phil when anyone approaches since he’s never really been in a social environment before. Beginning to adjust. Beginning to realize how bad his life was before.

8.Techno gets his own cleaner fish swarm but they’re so noisy for a guy used to the isolated silence of what’s basically a dead zone so he starts calling them chatter, and then just chat for short. Or voices either way

9.And then one day he ventures out past the reef to where the water plunges down cold and dark. And among the depths he sees a familiar giant face in the swirl of tendrils and fins.

And he finally realizes: oh maybe Phil really is married to the giant woman
